Today was truly a meaningful day. Pastor Samuel Lim and Pastor Ahn from The Way Maker Church generously served the children of Paterson with many gifts and delicious food. Although Pastor Lim could not attend because he is recovering from neck disc surgery, we ask that you pray for his quick and full recovery.
Among the families who attended, there was a mother who brought her four children.To my surprise, I learned that she herself had attended our mission’s after-school program 15 years ago.My heart was filled with many emotions—joy, gratitude, and even relief—because some of the children who once participated in our program later became involved in armed robbery or struggled with addiction.But seeing this young mother raising her children brought me great comfort and thankfulness.
What surprised me even more was learning that although there are many after-school programs in Paterson, families cannot afford them because they cost $100 per month.I had always assumed they were free, and for that reason Hana Mission planned to reopen our after-school program only after the school building was completed.But today, I made a promise to this mother: we will restart our after-school program in January.We will also reopen our Saturday Bible School.
At Hana Mission, we continually seek ways to serve more, give more, and love more.I encourage each of you to invest your time in children and in the poor.I am confident that your reward in heaven will be great.And I invite you to join us at Hana Mission to experience the joy of serving others.
May this blessed Christmas be a precious day of praising God together with your family.

오늘은 정말 뜻 깊은 날 입니다.
임성은 목사님과 안현일 목사님께서 시무하시는 주님의 길 교회에서 패터슨 어린이 들에게 많은 선물과 음식으로 섬겨 주셨습니다. 임성은 목사님께서는 목 디스크 수술을 하시고 회복 중 이셔서 참석하지 못하셨습니다.
빠른 회복을 위하여 기도해 주시기 바랍니다.
이날 행사에 참여한 분 중에 아이를 4명 데리고 오신 어머니가 있었습니다.
그런데 알고보니 15년 전에 선교회에서 운영하는 방과후 프로그램에 참여한 학생이었습니다.
너무 놀랍고 반가워 만감이 교차하였습니다. 왜냐하면 이전에 프로그램에 참여한 학생 중에 권총 강도가 된 아이, 약물 중독이 된 아이들이 있는데
다행이 아이를 키우는 어머니가 있기 때문에 마음이 안도되고 감사했습니다.
그리고 놀란것은 많은 방과후 학교가 있지만 한달에 $100을 내야하기 때문에 아이들을 보내지 못하고 있다는 것입니다.
저는 패터슨의 모든 방과후 학교는 무료라고 생각하였고 그래서 하나선교회는 학교를 만든 후에 방과후 프로그램을 다시 오픈할 계획이 있었습니다.
하지만 오늘 저는 이 어머니와 약속 하였습니다. 일월에 방과후 학교를 시작하겠다고.
그리고 토요일 성경학교도 다시 시작하도록 하겠습니다.
하나선교회는 어떻하며 더 나눠주고 더 섬길 수 있을까 고민하고 노력하고 있습니다.
